In-House Program Overview

In-House Program Overview

The In-House program Pomperaug Soccer Club offers is for the U4-U8 age groups. This program introduces the players to the game of soccer in a fun, non-competitive manner.  Focus is placed on development of basic soccer skills in preparation for travel programs. The program involves teams within Pomperaug Soccer Club only and each program operates on a limited set of rules of the game that is appropriate for the age level.

  • Registration for In-House will be done on this website - Select 'Register' in the upper left.
  • For more information on the age specific programs, the skill focus, and registration costs, see the links to the right.
  • The "U" in the division stands for "Under" and is a general indication of the age range for that program.  All programs in Pomperaug Soccer Club follow US Soccer guidelines of registering by year of birth, with January 1st as the age cutoff date to determine which division is appropriate for a child.
    • Please refer to our Age Groups page for information regarding divisions.

Volunteering

Volunteering

Each season the PSC needs parent volunteers to make it a success both at the In-House (U4-U8) and Travel (U9-U14) program levels. We encourage parents to volunteer to be a coach or assistant coach, and no experience is required!

The main goal at U4-U8 is for the players to have fun and learn to enjoy the game and demonstrate good sportsmanship along the way.

  • 'Parent Coaches' help with game day coordination and communicating with their team as needed.
  • U4-U6: the professional coach plans each Saturday training session and demonstrates the day's drills, so no preparation or knowledge is required.
  • U7-U8: the professional coach runs the trainer session during the week and parent coaches of multiple teams usually work together to hold a parent coach practice. Our Director of Coaching can provide guidance for the parent coach practice as needed.
  • Volunteering is a great way to learn about the game! You can take it as far as you are comfortable with as your player gets older and goes through the PSC programs. We have guidance to provide and there is US Soccer Grassroots training available.

Please consider volunteering and let us know if you have any questions (pscinhousesoccer@outlook.com).
