Program Description for U4/U5/U6

Program Description for U4/U5/U6

Pre-Kickers (U4) and Kickers (U5, & U6) are designed to help players discover the game of soccer through the use of fun drills and games. Teams play 4 vs. 4, with no score kept and frequent breaks. Sessions make use of small practice goals with no goalkeepers and a size 3 ball.

During the first half of each session, fun drills will be demonstrated by a professional coach and then practiced by each team. The second half of the session will be dedicated to a game. Referees are not used during games - rather coaches will work the sidelines to keep the ball in play, allowing the kids to discover the game.  We encourage parents to volunteer to coach or assistant coach.

Age groups are determined by birth year. The "U" in the division stands for "Under" and is a general indication of the age range for that program.  All programs in Pomperaug Soccer Club follow US Soccer guidelines of registering by year of birth, with January 1st as the age cutoff date to determine which division is appropriate for a child.
